Key pillars of our program include:
Crate Training
To help puppies acclimate to their "bedroom," they are crated overnight and for periodic naps or meals during the day. This consistent routine encourages them to relax and learn how to soothe themselves.
House Training
We focus on gentle house training, which helps puppies learn how to relax and settle within a home environment. Through consistent supervision, we guide them toward peaceful habits and a sense of belonging in their new space.
Travel Training
Puppies practice riding and relaxing in a crate while in a vehicle. This builds their confidence for car rides and ensures they remain safe, calm, and secure during transit.
Negotiating Steps
Puppies are gently introduced to stairs, learning how to navigate them safely and confidently. This helps develop their coordination and ensures they can move comfortably through different home environments.
Developing Foundational Habits
Part of our stewardship is guiding puppies toward calm, thoughtful habits. From gentle greetings to mindful meal times, we help them understand how to move through a home with grace and self-control.
Mastering Essential Skills
Our approach focuses on guiding puppies toward thoughtful behaviors. By teaching them to accept treats softly and walk calmly by your side, we help them develop the self-control they need to navigate the world with confidence and poise.
Building Solo Confidence
A key part of our guidance is helping puppies find their "inner calm." By practicing relaxed crate time in the house and during travel, we help them develop the quiet confidence they need to rest contentedly while waiting for your return.
Cooperative Retrieva
We focus on building a relationship of trust through "trading." By teaching puppies to happily bring items to us in exchange for a reward, we foster a generous spirit and prevent the development of guarding behaviors or stressful chases.
Guided Socialization
We introduce puppies to a vibrant world by carefully exposing them to a variety of people, animals, and environments. Whether it’s a quiet visit to a local shop or observing a sporting event, these positive experiences help them grow into confident, steady companions.
About Our Trainer
Kimberly is the trainer behind WillOMoor Puppy Preschool, bringing decades of hands-on experience, continual education, and a deep understanding of canine development to every puppy she works with. Her training philosophy is rooted in concept-based training, focusing on teaching puppies how to learn, build confidence, regulate themselves, and thoughtfully engage with the world—rather than simply memorizing commands.
Kimberly is an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator and is passionate about raising puppies with strong foundations in engagement, neutrality, adaptability, and real-life skills. Her approach blends reward-based training, structured play, and developmentally appropriate challenges to set puppies up for long-term success in both family life and performance pursuits.
With years of experience working with puppies, sport dogs, and family companions—and a commitment to lifelong learning—Kimberly’s goal is to develop dogs that are confident, biddable, and truly easy to live with. Puppies graduating from WillOMoor Puppy Preschool are started with intention, clarity, and a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
